NaNoWriMo 2006
National Novel Writing Month Nov.1 -30 2006
This will be my second attempt at writing a novel in a month. Hopefully THIS year, will be the year I finish! My story is called Uta Tulu, and its about a drop of rain that travels from Alert Bay area, northern Canada all the way through to the tropics in a riotous celebration of life. I started last year on this story, a couple days into November. I didn’t have a chance. I decided at the close of last November, I was going to read everything I could on weather patterns, Earth (by geology and evolutionary epochs), clouds, glaciers, ice burgs etc., without writing a single thing until November. My hope was to just suck up all the inspiration and data I could to inform my imagination, and hopefully be able to regurgitate as much of the science and myth in the form of plot, character development, and setting.
I hope the strategy works!
As of today, October 13th 2006, I am putting all my efforts into preparing for this years write off. I will update my progress in this blog. Feel free to ask questions, offer critiques, and or suggestions during this process.
HEY! If you are also joining the NaNoWriMo 2006 campaign, leave a note and if you’d like a link! This is a hard project spitting out a 50,000 word manuscript in 30 days, lets support each other with a few
RAH RAHs and
ATTA WAYs!
Fellow writers! Here is a fabulous guide by Lazette Gifford (fellow NaNoWriMo participant, and published author) to help facilitate the process through the use of a hyper outline technique she calls Phase writing.
Some Icon’s I’ve been admiring…
